Challenge:
Inspired by a photo of young woman. I began this painting using a technique that some refer to as scumbling.

The medium is oil on canvas.

Solution:
I first covered the canvas in paint and then lifted out the light areas.

The piece represents an ageless woman. A child with old eyes.

It was an exploration in facial features and subtle texture.
